Product Costing · Controlling · AI Visibility

From Cost
Transparency
to Market Visibility.

My background is in Product Costing and Controlling, but I see controlling as more than a matter of costs. I am equally interested in revenue – and, today, in how specialist B2B expertise is found, understood and recommended in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and similar services.

Business impact
has two sides.

For me, controlling is a decision-support function. With a focus on costs as well as prices, customers and profitable growth.

I have always seen controlling as a business partner, rather than simply cost control. The strongest results emerge when cost transparency is combined with better pricing, sales and a strong revenue base.

Good cost calculations therefore answer more than the question of what a product costs. They help explain business relationships, assess alternatives and make a sound case for the value of an offering.

  1. 01

    Understand costs

Make drivers, assumptions and relationships transparent.

  2. 02

    Explain value

Turn cost transparency into a clear rationale for pricing.

  3. 03

    Strengthen decisions

    Consider costs and revenue together.

Cost transparency
as a pricing argument.

Product Costing · Pricing rationale

My controlling experience includes product costing and support for price negotiations.

For me, this connection explains why the work does not end with the calculation: a transparent cost base can strengthen the commercial case in sales.

Controlling thus helps connect costs, the value of the offering and an appropriate selling price.

What I take from this

Transparency becomes effective when it leads to an argument people can understand.

Having expertise.
Making expertise visible.

There is an important translation task between what an expert can do and what others recognise.

The professional substance

Actual expertise

Experience, methods and the ability to solve a specific problem.

  • Industry and project experience
  • Clear decision logic
  • Specific contributions and credible evidence

The right context

Perceived expertise

What clients, decision-makers, recruiters and AI-assisted research systems recognise and consider relevant.

  • Clear specialist positioning
  • Understandable use cases
  • Accessible experience and references

The connection: Explain and substantiate existing expertise so that it can be understood correctly outside the organisation.

A perspective
shaped by practice.
